LORER Summer School

A week of courses on optimizing electrical networks

The Laboratory for Optimization of Renewable Electric gRids (LORER) has organized a summer school in Montreal, with the support of the IET among others, aimed at training researchers and engineers in electrical networks and their successors in optimization methods and advanced learning in the context of modern electrical networks.

Specialized seminars and practical workshops on digital implementation were held over the course of a week, presented by world-renowned experts. Topics as diverse as machine learning, large-scale optimization, control for electrical networks, power demand management and electromagnetic transient simulations were covered.

Master's and PhD students and postdoctoral researchers with a strong interest in renewable electrical networks were invited to participate, as were R&D analysts and industry engineers. These individuals thus had the opportunity to exchange ideas and meet experts and professionals from the energy ecosystem during discussions and networking events.
