The Government of Canada must submit its 2030 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Plan by the end of March 2022. Since Canada has missed all of its climate targets to date, the IET has elected to support the development of this plan by publishing a set of proposals detailed on a sectorial basis.
During the webinar, the authors will outline their proposed path to effective and meaningful climate action. This path builds upon evidence from a modelling exercise of unparalleled depth in the country, as well as on deep analyses of sectoral trends and barriers to decarbonization.
The program includes proposals in the following areas:
– Governance
– Electricity
– Buildings
– Industry
– Transport
– Oil and gas
– Biomass
– Carbon capture and storage (CCS)
– Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF)
