Polytechnique Montréal’s Institut de l’énergie Trottier (IET) invites you to the unveiling of results from the Canadian Energy Outlook: Horizon 2060 (second edition).
Developed in collaboration with the firm ESMIA Consultants and the e3c Hub, this report presents Canada’s possible courses of action to achieve carbon neutrality. The report also assesses the costs and impacts of various pathways to neutrality at both national and provincial levels.
The authors will present findings drawn from modeling results as well as from an analysis of the evolution of the Canadian energy system, and GHG emissions, which demonstrates that carbon neutrality goals require an in-depth review of climate strategy.
The presentation will also address the following:
• Are Canadian climate targets still realistic?
• What are the challenges to be faced per sector (buildings, transport, industry, agriculture, etc.)?
• Where should we start?
• What pitfalls should we avoid?
