Midterm forum

The Institut de l’énergie Trottier (IET), as part of its Biomass and carbon neutrality: putting in place an evaluation framework project, organised a national forum on 13 February 2024 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, attended by over 60 people in person and around 100 online, representing a wide range of stakeholders.

The forum presented the results of the first year of the project, and launched discussions on what should be included in a biomass use evaluation framework through presentations, panels and discussions in plenary and round table with the various stakeholders. These activities provided an opportunity to discuss the various social, economic and sustainability issues surrounding the use of biomass in both agriculture and forestry. The discussion periods provided an opportunity to lay the foundations for the development of the framework.
